Image based format with optional hidden text. Can be used for delivery via web or CD-ROM, but large filesize can be a drawback for large projects. Non-editable. Good quality, widely adopted. Large file size (except with JBIG2 option in PDF 1.3) Very low for black and white, low-moderate for grayscale and color.

Microsoft
Word
Source file format, used mostly for documents requiring updates. Editable, the most widely used format for business documents. Viewer must have MS Windows, therefore not widely used as a Web or CDROM format. High, particularly if extensive formatting required.

A manual, has moderate formatting and line art illustrations. Everyone's favorite, a tax form. This one demonstrates our ability to recreate a form in MS Word from a paper original. View Sample
